Your apprenticeship position with WOERNER in Wertheim

Systematic training in all sections of the company, a training workshop, internal teaching, joint project work and even off-the-job training guarantee an excellent basis for embarking on a career with WOERNER.

Apprenticeship - Industrial Sales Representative

Length of training: 3 years

Education qualification: General certificate of secondary education (High School, commercial vocational college), Abitur (A level equivalent)

Department:
As a Industrial Sales Representative you may be deployed in all commercial departments.

Following the successful completion of your training, you will generally work as a clerk in a commercial department, such as Buying or Sales.

In Purchasing, you will be involved in all work, from the receipt of quotations, price comparisons and buying negotiations with suppliers, to invoice checking.
In Sales, you will advise and support customers, collect and handle customer orders, monitor delivery dates and take care of shipment.

As a Industrial Sales Representative you will ensure a seamless administration process and take care of correspondence, sometimes also in a foreign language (English or French).

Training content:
In the 1st year of your apprenticeship, you will meet the different departments within Materials Management, and work in production-related departments, such as Work Scheduling and Warehousing. You will gain an insight into Incoming Goods and Buying. You will also familiarise yourself with the company and its products.

In the 2nd year you will gain an insight into the work of the HR department, starting with the entry of an employee, to payroll and the departure of an employee. You will be introduced to accounting operations in Accounts and will be involved in the processing of incoming invoices and payments.
In our Sales department, you will gain an overview of order processing, from receipt to invoicing.

In the 3rd year you will then be employed in a department in which you will be intensively prepared for your final examination and in which you may possibly work on completion of your training.

Vocational college:
1 ½ days per week teaching during your training

Intermediate examination:
The operational and school-based content of your first year of training will be examined mid-way through your 2nd training year.

Final examination:
Written examination of your knowledge at college, reporting on your specialist field with a final technical discussion in front of a Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examination Committee.

Apprenticeship - Industrial Mechanic

Length of training: 3 1/2 years

Education (qualification):
Hauptschule (High School), vocational college, Realschule (Junior High School)

Field of work:
Your work will including the production, testing, commissioning, maintenance and repair of machinery and production systems. The combined interaction of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic components and their drives places high demands on precise working.

You will be deployed in the following specific departments: Prototyping, One-off and small series production, Assembly, Repair, Quality Assurance and Service. This work will be carried out at alternating or fixed places or work or even on site.

Training content: (Extract)

  • Planning and control of working and motion sequences
  • Control and evaluation of results
  • Manual and mechanical machining and production of programs for numerically controlled machine tools
  • Production and assembly of components and assemblies, taking into consideration various manufacturing processes
  • Maintenance of machines, systems and equipment
  • Construction and testing of pneumatic and hydraulic circuits and components
  • Identification, isolation and resolution of faults and malfunctions
  • Health and safety at work, environmental protection and economical use of energy

Vocational college:
1-week long block teaching per month during training

Examination:
Extended final examination sub-divided into two parts

At the end of the 2nd training year, all core qualifications and technical qualifications will be tested, both practically and in writing, based on a complex task. The result makes up 40% of the final examination.

The second part of the final examination, which takes place at the end of the training period, has a 60% weighting. It consists of Part 2a - Operational work order (practical part) - and 2b - Action-based task (written part).
