Lubricant is delivered to the distributor intermittently. The distributor, in turn, delivers predetermined quantities of lubricant to the lubrication points during each pressure rise cycle.
Oil is transported, in minute quantities, by air, to the lubrication points.
In progressive distributors, lubricant is allocated in predetermined sequences. The lubricant allocated to a specific lubrication point can only flow if the lubrication of the previous point has been completed.
function of the progressive distributor
Lubricant is delivered to the distributor in two main lines alternating with every cycle. Through the pressure change in these lines, lubricant, in predetermined quantities, is dlivered to the lubrication points.
